About

Welcome to The Mom Survival Guide!

I am so incredibly happy that you found The Mom Survival Guide!  A blog geared toward helping stay at home moms find happiness in their everyday life through parenting tips, simple organization ideas, easy home management systems, self-care and more!

Let’s face it, being a stay at home mom is one of the hardest jobs you will ever have.  I am here to keep you motivated to do the job you know is right for you even when your home is a mess, it feels like things are spinning out of control, and you are thinking that getting a job would be the easier choice.

As a mom, you deal with sick kids, disorganization, and messes every day.  It can be super hard and stressful to keep up with the day to day grind.  I have learned so much over my 14 years being at home and I want to share it all with you so you don’t have to take the time to learn it all yourself.

You Belong Here IF:

  • You are trying to hold it all together but need some encouragement and motivation.
  • You have begun to question if you made the right choice to stay home.
  • You are not the kind of person to spend hours and hours a day creating ‘the perfect home’ because it is a waste of time.
  • You just want some fast simple solutions to make your days a little easier.
  • You are fine with getting to your tasks tomorrow if it means spending more time with your family today.
  • You became a stay at home mom to make fun and wonderful memories with your kids and have more time as a family.
  • You need some advice on how to keep your head on straight in the midst of all the chaos and challenges that being a stay at home mom can throw in your face.

If you are any of these, then you are my kind of mom and you belong here.  My solutions to the chaos of day to day life as a stay at home mom are all about finding the simplest, and a lot of times the cheapest, solution to the problem so you can move on to more fun things with your kids.

What Can I Offer You?

I want to help you find simple and easy ways to manage your home by creating good routines, decluttering, and getting organized.  Adding these super simple, no-fuss systems to your days can help you find more time for yourself and your family.

And I want you to take care of yourself by finding hobbies, finding other stay at home mom friends to talk to, and sleeping well.

Once you get organized and start taking care of your day to day life as well as yourself, that is when the happiness and a little more relaxation will start to seep in!

Because there is a fun side of momming too and that is what I truly want you to have the time for!  Cooking fun things like cookies, playing with your kids, having crazy dance parties, having tickle fights, laughing so hard you can hardly breathe…  these are the reasons we become stay at home moms.

And believe it or not, being organized and self care are two of the best ways to find the fun and happy side of being a mom.

A Little About Me

About 13 years ago I gave birth to my first bundle of joy.

After much deliberation about finances, my husband and I made the decision that I would go from Biologist to Stay At Home Mom.

Now I have two active children, one who is is school all day and one who is doing homeschool with me. (So yeah, my days can get a little hectic.)

Over the years that I have been home, I have found that writing and helping others is a passion of mine.

I decided to start this blog to do just that.  Help other moms stay happy at home.

What I’ve Learned

Over the last 14 years, I have learned the hard way that the world does not stop just because you do.  With two kids and back problems, things could get pretty crazy and stressful in my life.

I had to learn to organize my home and myself so I could be effective even on bad pain days. I learned how to create a routine for myself and my family and became really good at sticking to it. I had to start scheduling time to take care of my own body, mind and soul. And I had to learn to appreciate the small things that life has to offer.

Staying focused on these aspects of my life has changed how I perform as a mom, and it can do the same for you.

I hope to see you around my blog!

With Love!

P.S. – I love to write!  It is a passion of mine!  So if you would like me to write for you, just email me and I would love to discuss it further.
